Las Cruces Orthopaedic Associates, PC. Comprehensive Orthopaedic Services
A few decades ago, Southern New Mexico was far behind the times in terms of quality specialized healthcare of any kind, let alone orthopaedic care. Patients had to travel to El Paso or Albuquerque to address their unmet medical needs. Today however, there is no shortage of experts in the field of orthopaedic services.
Founded by Dr. Robert Stack, Las Cruces Orthopaedic Associates is currently one of the top providers of comprehensive orthopaedic care in the southwest and is also the largest orthopaedic group in Southern New Mexico. From conservative to surgical treatments, MRI imaging, pharmacy and custom bracing; Las Cruces Orthopaedic Associates offers a full spectrum of care.
The six board certified and fellowship-trained physicians who comprise Las Cruces Orthopaedic Associates have a philosophy of educating patients to help maximize their quality of life and enhance physical activity. Each of them is considered an expert in their field and they all pride themselves on offering the most up to date treatment options available.

Dr. Saiz joined LCOA in 2007 and is the other bilingual physician of the group. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. His orthopaedic residency was completed at the Phoenix Orthopaedic Residency Program in Phoenix, AZ followed by two fellowships; Spinal Reconstructive Surgery at the Sonoran Spine Center in Phoenix, AZ and Musculoskeletal Oncology at Rush Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Dr. Saiz is a member of the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society. His other medical interests include serving as a consultant in Trabecular metal technology for Zimmer Spine. His specialty includes all diseases and disorders of the spine.
All of the LCOA physicians have devoted years of their lives to the study and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions to include sports injuries, cartilage restoration, fracture care, total joint replacement, foot and ankle injuries, wrist and hand surgery, as well as all spine conditions. They are supported by a team of highly trained professional staff consisting of thirty-one employees.
Since 1992, LCOA has been at the same location and just last spring started a massive expansion project set to be completed later this year. Delilah Prieto, the Administrator for LCOA, has been with the center for seventeen years and she admits that she has seen more changes this year than in all the years she has been there. “It’s all to improve the quality of care we provide to our patients,” she says. The new construction will add additional clinic space, a new MRI, coffee bar as well digital X-ray to modernize the patient experience. The center will undergo a dramatic transformation.
A key addition to LCOA will be a new state of the art MRI. The Optima MR360 is a digital MRI machine that delivers a high resolution, high quality exam with more clarity and detail than an average MRI scan. LCOA is excited about this new technology and the opportunity to enhance patient care.
At Las Cruces Orthopaedic Associates, a priority is placed on community service as well as providing specialized orthopaedic care to all patients throughout the Southwest. Additionally, the physicians are all orthopaedic consultants for New Mexico State University athletics as well as all Las Cruces high schools. All NMSU football games, home and away, have one of the LCOA physicians present and they are proud to take part in serving local athletes. It is this commitment to the community and their focus on providing comprehensive orthopaedic care that keeps patients loyal to the practice.
